Many People like to make Children’s clothes especially for the newborn, and it is an especially personal present to be able to give a hand sewn item of clothing.
Sometimes these have become heirlooms passed on from generation to generation.

To teach the next generation their sewing skills, many a mother or grandmother has helped a young girl to make clothes for her Dolls.
In my day it was Sindy dolls I made for, today’s generation I guess it would be Barbie!
